COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course allows a pilot to fly with far fewer restrictions in regards to airspace, aircraft flown, use of the airplane, number of passengers, etc. Pilots are not limited to Light Sport airplanes, they may also fly at night.

Prerequisites  

  • TSA- Must be a US citizen and have a US passport or original Birth Certificate with a government issued photo ID
  • Must be at least 16 to solo
  • Must be at least 17 to take the checkride
  • Pass an FAA medical (Class 3 minimum)
  • Read, write, and understand English

HOW WE DO IT

We conduct our ground and flight training using our Remos aircraft and comprehensive syllabus to meet the requirements of 14CFR Part 61 Subpart E Private Pilots. There is no age limit to start and fly with an instructor. You must be 16 years old to solo and 17 to complete a checkride. Course Completion: 3 weeks (accelerated). Normally, the class takes about 3 months with a regular flying schedule of 2-3 lessons per week.

COURSE COMPLETION

  • Log at least 40 hours of flight time that includes at least 20 hours of flight training from an authorized instructor and 10 hours of solo flight training 
  • 3 hours of cross-country flight training in a single-engine airplane
  • One cross-country flight of over 100 nautical miles total distance
  • 10 takeoffs and 10 landings to a full stop (with each landing involving a flight in the traffic pattern) at an airport
  • 3 hours of flight training in a single-engine airplane on the control and maneuvering of an airplane solely by reference to instruments, including straight and level flight, constant airspeed climbs and descents, turns to a heading, recovery from unusual flight attitudes, radio communications, and the use of navigation systems/facilities and radar services appropriate to instrument flight
  • 3 hours of flight training with an authorized instructor in a single-engine airplane in preparation for the practical test, which must have been performed within the preceding 2 calendar months from the month of the test
