What Happens
Here's exactly what your Discovery Flight looks like, start to finish.
Show up at Glendale Regional Airport. Your CFI meets you at the flight school — no big terminal, no wandering. We'll make sure you know exactly where to go.
Your CFI walks you through the Remos GX, what you'll see on the instruments, and what to expect in the air. This isn't a lecture — it's a quick practical conversation. 10–15 minutes and you're heading to the aircraft.
Once you're airborne, your CFI will let you actually fly the aircraft. Turns, climbs, straight and level — you have the controls. The Phoenix Valley opens up below you. This is the moment most people describe as life-changing.
After landing, your CFI answers your questions and walks you through what a training path would look like if you want to continue. No pressure — some people fly once for the experience. Others start training the same week. Both are fine.
What's Included

Common Questions
The minimum age for a Discovery Flight at Fly Eagle Sport is 14. Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver before the flight. No exceptions.
No. For a Discovery Flight as a passenger/student, no medical certificate is required. If you want to fly solo or pursue a Sport Pilot certificate, you'll need a valid U.S. driver's license instead of a medical — one of the advantages of the light sport category.
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Arizona sun gets intense, so sunglasses are a good idea. We provide headsets — no need to bring your own.
The Remos GX is a 2-seat aircraft, so it's just you and your CFI in the air. Guests are welcome to wait at the flight school and see you land.
Arizona gives us 300+ flyable days a year, but weather does occasionally cause rescheduling. If we need to move your flight, we'll contact you in advance and find a new time at no charge.
Yes — your Discovery Flight is your first official flight hour. It's logged in your logbook just like any other lesson, and it counts toward your Sport or Private Pilot certificate. You're not just trying flying out — you're already doing it.
