In a nutshell, There is a very strong growing demand! Post 9-11 was a difficult time for aviation, pay scales were down and the industry was in a recession. But now is the “perfect storm” as the baby boomers that have been flooding the airlines are now hitting mandatory retirement age! This is forcing thousands of pilots EACH year to retire from the airlines. The vacuum from this alone will be nearly impossible to keep up with at the current rate we are producing domestic pilots. Pay scales have been brought back to attractive levels by the demand of the pilot unions now that airlines are seeing record profits for the first time in many years.
The airlines are in a steady growth and more planes are already on order across the board for future demands, requiring even more pilots. The good news is that no matter what your goal is; airlines, corporate, teaching, or other sector… there will be a need, a BIG one at that!
